Löwenweiss is created: from design to product
We're sure about one thing: a good product comes from good design. And good design isn’t a single step, but a process that arises from a question: how can we guarantee maximum comfort to the wearers of Löwenweiss slippers, while also contributing positively to the world around us?
Comfortable and sustainable: because that's how we design them
Comfort and sustainability are the essential characteristics of every Löwenweiss slipper and are only possible if the footwear is designed from the outset according to these two criteria.
Design, as we understand it at Casa Löwenweiss, concerns the entire process, from the design to the choice of materials, from the relationship with suppliers to production, and from artisan training to the management of production facilities.
Comfort is not an opinion
Comfort is not a purely subjective factor, it has parameters that must be respected in the design stage, that vary according to the function. In our case, for a shoe to be considered "comfortable", it must be at least half a centimetre wider than the foot, which is why our wool slippers feature their classic rounded toe, suitable for any foot type.
Sustainability is an action
For us, sustainable is not an abstract adjective but a way of thinking and doing.
That's why we have completely reformulated the production process of our slippers and, where possible, replaced virgin wool felt with recycled felt.
There are two positive effects of this choice: one linked to impact and resources, the other to the well-being of those who choose Löwenweiss.
The use of recycled felt has made it possible to drastically reduce the consumption of energy, water, CO2 emissions, textile waste and chemicals. We have therefore revolutionised our business model by introducing up to 300% recycled material, including for the packaging.
This is true sustainability: everyone wins, nobody loses.
